Last Time In Clerkenwell

Last Time In Clerkenwell

This infectious animation by Alex Budovsky is utterly bonkers but brimming with ingenuity and based on the equally infectious tune by Steven Coates (the lead singer of The Real Tuesday Weld). An apparent sequel to Bathtime In Clerkenwell, you don't need to worry about that to enjoy the madness.

It's the birds, you see, in black and white. They've taken over or, at least, that's how it appears. The monochrome animation seems deceptively simple at first, but Budovsky is endlessly inventive, keeping every area of the screen in constant motion. There's never a dull moment in the four-minute runtime, which definitely bears up well to repeated viewings, and the lack of a clear-cut narrative adds to the fun of the whole, rather than detracting from it.
